Welcome to the website of the Buccleuch and Queensberry Caledonia Pipe Band.

The Buccleuch & Queensberry Caledonia Pipe Band is based in the village of Thornhill in South-West Scotland. The Band is a registered charity and is totally self-supporting. It raises funds by playing at fetes, galas etc, both locally and further afield. They have also attended festivals abroad, mainly in France ~ Nice, Saumur, Dax, Haguenau, Wissembourg and Montréjeau to name but a few. On occasions they have been known to return proudly bearing trophies. On such trips they are usually accompanied by the Thornhill Scottish Country Dancers who help to make a more varied programme.

There has always been a strong family tradition among its members, with often three or even four of the same family playing in the band at one time. The emphasis is always on youth and much of the older member's time is spent on tuition of the younger members.

They meet on a Monday night in Thornhill Community Centre at 7.30pm.
New members are always welcome.

The band wears the Ancient Green Douglas Tartan and is led by Pipe Major Kenneth Prentice.
